ZUM is a biannual contemporary photography magazine published by the Moreira Salles Institute since 2012. Each 184-page issue brings together photographers, filmmakers, artists, critics and essayists to discuss the image and its issues. The magazine exalts the importance of printed material, using graphic elements such as special colors, varnishes and paper changes in order to favor each work in its best language. Each issue, the magazine's subscribers receive an exclusive poster, made from a graphic sheet of one of the magazine's articles, revealing the imposition of the pages in what would be an issue's notebook. The sobriety and simplicity of the magazine's visual identity, the modular organization in which image and text occupy equally prominent spaces, contributes to the longevity of the project, in which the focus on editing, the quality of image reproduction and critical dialogues are the protagonists of the publication.
