Pina Ball celebrates the 120th anniversary of the Pinacoteca de São Paulo.
Like the artwork Desmáscara (2025) by Lenora de Barros, specially commissioned for the ball, the visual identity appropriates mirrored material, in which reflection creates a space of encounter between the viewer and what is being seen.
The eyes extracted from portraits in the Pinacoteca’s collection reinforce this temporal and symbolic play of the mask, allowing artworks and passersby to gaze at one another.
The invitation and the mask therefore operate as extensions of one another: sensitive calls for mutual recognition, presence, and the idea that the Pinacoteca—like art itself—is built through reflection between people, histories, and gazes.
The charity ball featured performances by Paulinho da Viola and Amaro Freitas.
